AAA 2007 Benchmarking Paperless Office Practices
By Roman H. Kepczyk, CPA.CITP (December 20, 2006)

Paperless office technologies have had a significant impact on the accounting profession profoundly changing the way CPA practices operate today.  The Association for Accounting Administration begin tracking the usage of paperless process with their groundbreaking surveys before the 2003 and 2005 tax seasons.   This tradition continues with the 2007 Benchmarking Paperless Office Practices survey that was presented to member firms in November 2006 to determine their usage of digital best practices for the 2007 busy season.  In all 221 firms participated, ranging in size from 5 to 550 members with the average firm size for respondents being 67 personnel.  Please note that questions from the 2005 survey having a higher than 80% response rate were dropped and questions listed as NEW have been added.  See how your firm stacks up below!
